Request a free quoteRear passenger privacy, glare control and a different exterior appearance are common reasons to tint a car. Start with the result you want rather than choosing the darkest sample. Visible light transmission describes how much light passes through glazing; it is not a measure of heat rejection. Compare the technical specification of the proposed film, particularly if cabin comfort is your main priority.
Our published guide lists two-door cars from £160 and four-door cars from £200. These are starting prices, not a promise that every vehicle or film specification costs the same. Send your vehicle make, model, year, postcode and the windows you want treated. Mention any existing film or damaged glass so removal and preparation can be considered before booking.
For vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1985, the front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows at least 70%. Earlier vehicles require at least 70% for both. The measurement applies to the glass and film together; factory glass may already be close to the limit. Do not assume a light-looking film will be legal. UK tint rules do not set the same limits for the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.
Tell us about parking, access and any sheltered space when requesting your appointment. Film fitting needs suitable working conditions; exposed parking or poor weather can affect whether the job can proceed. Clear belongings from the working area and tell the installer about rear-screen heating elements, sensors or existing film. Confirm the expected duration and aftercare before the work starts.
Follow the installer’s instructions for curing time, opening windows and cleaning. Conditions and film type can affect how quickly moisture clears, so do not use a fixed internet timetable as a substitute for the instructions for your installation. Guardian Tints advertises a lifetime warranty; ask for the terms applicable to your chosen film and keep the installation paperwork.
No. The combined glass and film must meet the applicable front-glazing light-transmission limits. Discuss the intended windows before choosing a film.
Yes, film removal is offered at £50/hour in the published price guide. Tell us about the existing film so the work can be quoted.
