Screen glare, uncomfortable sun exposure and meeting-room privacy call for different solutions. Describe the affected rooms, occupied hours and the view you want to preserve. A site with several elevations may benefit from different specifications rather than applying one film everywhere. Performance claims should refer to the proposed product and glass combination.

Privacy without unexpected compromises

Reflective film is sensitive to the difference between indoor and outdoor lighting. An office that appears private during daylight may be visible from outside after dark. Frosted film may suit internal meeting-room glazing where an outward view is not required. Consider daylight, signage, customer visibility and staff preferences alongside privacy.

Safety and security specifications

Privacy film and safety film are not interchangeable descriptions. If impact resistance or glass retention is a requirement, specify the intended outcome and request evidence for the complete installation system. Do not assume ordinary tinted film makes glazing burglar-proof or meets a building regulation. Landlord permissions and glazing warranties should be checked before installation.

Plan access and disruption

Tell us about opening hours, reception procedures, parking, desk positions and high-level panes. Agree access equipment and any work-area restrictions before booking. A phased installation may suit occupied premises, subject to the job’s requirements. Remove items from the agreed working area and nominate someone who can confirm access and the approved specification.

What a commercial quote needs

Provide the site postcode, approximate glass dimensions, pane count and photographs of each affected elevation. Include available glazing information and any existing film. Commercial work is quoted individually, not by applying the vehicle price list. Confirm product details, installation scope, care instructions and warranty coverage in writing.

Results depend on sun direction, glazing, film and workspace layout. Describe the affected times and screen positions so a suitable specification can be discussed.

Is tinted film a certified security upgrade?

Not automatically. Any safety or security requirement needs a suitable tested product and installation system, with supporting documentation.
